Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

We've have been having some really beautiful sunny weather here in Bellingham and then within a few hours our outside turned into this!?! So we turned the heat up, stayed in our jammies and made some scrumdidilyumptious chocolate chip cookies!
I have two of the best recipes ever. I have never had better cookies than these so if you want the recipe here it is...

Karen Smith's Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 sticks butter
1 1/4 C. sugar
1 1/4 C. dark brown sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
4 C. flour
4 1/2 C. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Mix butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs until smooth, creamy and fluffy.
Mix in soda and salt.
Add flour 1 cup at a time and mix.
Mix chocolate chips in by hand.
Roll rounded tablespoons of dough in hand and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until LIGHTLY browned!

For another equally delicious chocolate chip cookie recipe go to marthastewart.com and type in "Jacques Torres's Secret Chocolate Chip Cookies"

Mimi if you realize your diet is a bad idea than give me a call and I've got some cookies here for you!!

Clinton Street Biscuits

Here are the best biscuits EVER! If you are a lover of buttermilk biscuits than go to marthastewart.com and type in Clinton Street Biscuits! You won't be disappointed.
It really doesn't get better than a warm flaky biscuit right out of the oven with butter and my sister Amber's homemade plum raspberry jam, this is what I had for dinner and breakfast the last few days!

You know it's good jam when the bottle looks like this!
Don't judge!

Civic Field Fun...

Yesterday we went to civic field for a little exercise. Robby met the missionaries, some investigators and new members here to play a little football. Paden and Evan enjoyed watching them play. Paden kept saying things like, "is daddy going to get a touchdown?" or "is he gonna get a tackle!" It was really cute.

By the way hasn't the weather been wonderful. It's been cold but at least the sun has been out! Enjoy it while you can.

Evan's 2nd Birthday...

Earlier today I went to download all of the pictures from Evan's birthday party and to my surprise all 150 pictures had been deleted.

My mom used to tell us that my brother Jonathon would take apart lamps, electronics and anything else he could get his hands on. At first it infuriated her because he was being so destructive. Then she realized he wasn't this horrible child she thought he was, he was just acting like a BOY. She discovered that part of being a boy is that they want to take things apart and put them back together JUST to see how they work!
Luckily I remembered that story after I discovered that my three year old boy had been playing with my camera and deleted all my precious pictures. Paden is one lucky boy to have such a wise Grandma, she saved his life today!

On Sunday my family came over to celebrate Evan's 2nd birthday. For dinner we went downstairs to Amber's house for dinner and ate delicious Hawaiian haystacks then everyone came upstairs for dessert and presents. Evan sat down at the table with everyone else standing around him as he blew out a number three candle! We couldn't find the number two candle...but I don't think he knew the difference! After we each gobbled down a few (maybe like four) cupcakes Evan opened up his gifts. Thanks for all of the gifts and being the very best Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents a little two year old could ask for.

Happy Valentines Day!

The last few days have been full of FUN! Yesterday we made delicious sugar cookies and fun valentines for the ones we love.

I got this idea from my friend Andrea.
We made valentines by first cutting out 4 different size hearts...as you can see!

The large heart for the body the medium, size heart for the head, the small hearts for the fin and tail and a tiny heart for the lips!
Glue them together and add a cute googly eye and voila! A cute homemade Valentine to give away.

I asked Robby to take a picture with me and the boys assembling them together and THIS is what I got! Hmmm?!

Robby made a valentine just for me, I'm one lucky girl!

This morning I got the boys dressed up in their cute bow ties and we took off to deliver our valentines, cookies and red necklaces to family!

First stop Aunt Amber and Uncle Lance.

Next up-Grandpa at work!
By the way Grandpa really loved the red necklace.

The boys' favorite stop-GRANDMA!

After we left Grandma's we met Uncle Jonathon, Aunt Shanna, and cousin Jackson at Red Robin for lunch.
We also celebrated Evan's second birthday. My best Valentines Day ever was 2 yrs. ago in my bedroom holding my new son after giving birth in my own home...what a cutie he is!

Evan was a little nervous when a big group of people in red shirts started singing and clapping really loud at him.

I hope you are all enjoying this fun day.

Valentines Day Party!

Paden, Evan, and Kai were so excited to be invited to their first ever Valentines Day Party! For the big event my little heart breakers got all dressed up and put on their cute bow ties so they would be ready for all the girls!
Unfortunately Evan had to stay home because he's had a nasty cold.

I loved these little pom pom flower type decorations Tiffany brought along.

bow ties by april

Check out my little creations, aren't they so cute!

I put a bow tie up to Paden to see how it looked and he glanced down at it with a serious expression on his face and said, "I don't like that mom!"
Too bad!
Stay tuned for pictures of cute little boys in matching Valentines bow ties!
Thanks Jenna for the fabric.

Date Night...Finally!

I have been in much need for a date night this past week. The reason-my kids (EVAN) have been driving me CRAZY!

I love my kids I really do, but this past week they have been wearing me out. I used to think that Paden was a busy 2 yr. old but now that Evan is here and I have someone to compare him to I now know I was SO wrong. Evan goes from one thing to the next to the next and NOTHING entertains him for more than a few minutes. I would pick up one mess to discover there was another and another and another...ugh!

One of my favorite parts of the day is when I lay Kai down for his naps because that's when I can try and get some cleaning done or take a shower but almost every day Evan would run into the bedroom take all the blankets off my sleeping baby take his binkie out of his mouth and wake him up! A few times I had to just walk away and take some deep breaths before I dealt with the situation. There is nothing more frustrating than to feel like you haven't accomplished anything all day.

Luckily I am married to the most helpful man in the world but for some reason someone else needed his help or he had to be somewhere else on those days and I was left with my crazy little group of boys.

Sooo, when Saturday finally rolled around there was no question about it I was going on a date with my husband. We dropped the babysitter (Kelsey) off and ran! Hahaha
Robby took me to the delicious yummy "Keg" because I was SO worth it and very deserving of a scrumptious dinner and dessert-but guess what happened...Robby and I got so tired we barely talked to each other and took our dessert to go (some date)! However we did accomplish one thing that has made my day/life....we bought a baby gate and door knob covers!!! No more waking up the baby or getting into a million different places! Ahhhhh life has gotten SO much better at least for me!

Life with Boys!

Paden said to me as he was getting out of the car today, "I got a boogy. I'm gonna keep it on my finger mom!"

Just a second ago I went in the bathroom and fished out a whole roll of toilet paper from the tiolet. Ahhhh!

Me: "Hi Paden, how are you doing today?"
Paden: "I want to go play outside."
Me: "Why?"
Paden: "Because I have to."
Me: "What is your favorite color?"
Paden: "Red and Blue."
Me: "How come?"
Paden: "Because I like corvettes."
Me: "Are corvettes your favorite car?"
Paden: "Yeah! They go really fast! Trucks aren't fast, they are slow. They can't race corvettes, they're the fastest. Not Grandpa's. Not bikes. Not Grandpa's, it's not fast. But race cars are fast too!"
Me: "What else do you like?"
Paden: "The sun can burn all of the grass....write that!"
Me: "If you were a super hero who would it be?"
Paden: "Spiderman! I'm different now. I'm not Spiderman. But I'm going to be. I'm going to get my suit out of the trash can. That's what!"
Me: "Paden am I a super hero?"
Paden: "Yeah, you're spider girl! You're spider girl. I told you you're spider girl."

Paden: "Speed Racer ones. The ones where you press the buttons and it goes really fast."
Me: "I'm talking about like basketball or soccer."
Paden: "Soccer I didn't want to play. I have a game and it's really cool I want to fly around and be Darth Vader!"
Me: "If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?"
Paden: "I would go fishing. I need a little one."

Paden: "Yeah I did!"

Evan gets Interviewed

Today is just another boring Wednesday at the Loveland house, so I decided to interview my boys and see how they are doing. Here's how it went with my almost 2 yr. old Evan!
Me: "Alright Evan I am going to interview you and ask you a few questions. Is that alright?"
Evan: (silence)
Me: "Okay here's the first question!"
Evan: "K"
Me: "Are you a boy?"
Evan: "No." (shakes head) "yeah!"
Paden: "No, he's green goblin."
Me: "Paden it's just Evan's turn right now."
Me: Evan where is daddy"
Evan: "home" (Robby is actually at work)
Me: "What do you like to eat?"
Evan: "mmmm, ice keem" (ice cream)
Me: "What animal do you like?"
Evan: "moo"
Me: "That's a cow. Do you like cows?"
Evan: "No." "moo, oink, oink, oink"
Me: "Okay Evan sit down." (Evan throws a blanket over himself)
Me: "Evan, what are you doing?"
Evan: "Hiding. A belly, Paden's belly."
Me: "Alright, what is your favorite movie?"
Evan: "Wall-eeee, Evaaa, Evaaaa, Evaaaa....."
Me: "Okay Evan who are your brothers?"
Evan: "Nemo." (running around and jumping off the couch)
Me: "Evan who is your FAVORITE mommy?"
Evan: "Grrrrrrrammma" (grandma)
Me: "What would you like to do today?"
Evan: "Pizza!!!"
Me: "Alright Evan thank you so much for letting me interview you."
Evan: "Thanks." "Pizza."

Manic Monday

I got up early and did this.

Then I did a little more of this.

Then we dropped the car off to get fixed and my mom let us use her car until it was done.

We met my brother David and his girlfriend Alyssa here for lunch.

Walked back to the car and realized we didn't have the right key to unlock the door.

So, we walked across the street to let the kids play here until David returned with the key.

We drove home and realized we left the key to open our house up with our car that was being worked on.

So back to the car lot to get the key and then back home again. Meanwhile crying kids in the background was just great!

As soon as we got home we received a call from here saying the car was ready to be picked up. So, back here we went!

One more stop to do this!

I was finally home. I went to my computer to check my email and read that I had said something I wasn't supposed to say...I feel like a complete idiot...ugh! Just when I'm about to crash Robby says, "Did you see the chocolates Amber left for you!"

Yeah....chocolate!
I love Groundhogs Day!
